Technical Process of the Steel Drum Production Line
The manufacturing of steel drum entails a technical process of forming a single part that is combined to form a complete steel barrel. The process goes through the preparation of the materials, the formation of the body of the barrel, the bottom part formation, lid formation, and painting of the body after sealing of the barrel. The preparations of materials that are used to produce steel drums involve the uncoiling of the steel, leveling, and followed by shearing of the material. Afterward, the material is edged and lastly stacked
Steel Barrel Body Forming
The body formation of the steel drum involves turning the steel sheets into a round body drum before closing at the both end. The breakdown of the process includes rolling of the steel body, welding, seam welding and then flanging. The flanged body is later turned into a w-shaped body of which is ring reinforced to make it strong. When automatic drum welding machine is applied, spot welding and rolling machines are not necessary.
Barrel Bottom & Barrel Lids Production
Materials for lid and bottom cover formation are taken to the sealing machine to make the barrel seals. The process is done through bottom cover punch forming as well as barrel lids punch. The covers are sprayed by glue so that they can stick to the barrel.
Barrel Sealing & Painting
The fourth stage entails assembling all the parts the coating and painting them. The drum parts are cleansed, sealed and later assembled. After assembling, the drum is tested on leakage possibilities, painted and coated. The last process at this stage involves drying and painting of the logo of the company after drying the line.

Forming Method of Steel Drums
The Basic method used is metal plastic processing forming that rely on exterior force in the formation. The process gives quality outputs that are strong and best in performance. The lids of the drums are separated from the drum by power press that is done in a repeated number of times. The two main forming types are metal cutting and non-cutting process. The metal cutting method entails edging of the metal materials, molding and turning the materials in the form of reams. The non-cutting process, on the other hand, entails punching of the lower part of the drum to insert pressure so that the plates can be cut into different parts. The rotated rolling is also another special technology used in the production of the steel drum. The rolling is used in the formation of the body of the drum to make it into a W-shaped body.
Steel Drum Welding Method
The drums are welded by electric resistance welding method that compose of spot welding, projection welding, as well as seam welding. Electric resistance welding utilizes the heat that is generated when the surface of the edge parts comes into contact. The use of larger current helps to prevent the arcing through an increased pressure. The resistance welding is of two types that are; straight seam welding barrels and projection welding.
The seam welding uses electrode wheels that acts as electrodes that is done in a continuous welding manner. Drums closure uses the projection welding in turns of bumps on the parts and later using the electrode tip for spot welding. When automatic steel barrel equipment is used, spot welding and grinding is not required.
Coating & Painting Method
Coating and painting are done immediately after the formation of steel drums. The main objective of the process is mainly to improve the aesthetic and to reduce the corrosion of the barrel.
